Elders
ELDERS
They made you. All of you.
The Elders emerged in 1,250,000 BC—created by Eyxr, the primordial entity of Eternity, as one of the Original Nine species seeded at the dawn of the cosmos. When the First Unraveling shattered reality in 1,112,345 BC and destroyed the other eight original civilizations, the Elders alone survived. Their unique temporal biology allowed them to phase-shift through the spacetime shears that annihilated everything else.
Biology
Standing three to four feet tall with opalescent skin that shifts from moonlit silver to deep iridescent blue, Elders appear delicate—almost ethereal. Fan-like translucent appendages extend from their heads like butterfly wings, serving as organic arrays for psionic communication. Glowing antenna-like stellae crown their heads, pulsing with color according to emotional state.
Their true nature runs deeper. Through density manipulation, Elders control quantum fields at the molecular level—flying by becoming lighter than air, anchoring themselves immovably, or phasing through solid matter. Their Eternity-Core organ grants perception of temporal flows and instabilities. They sense time the way other species sense light. Lifespans range from 300 to over 5,000 years depending on spiritual practice.
Architects of Life
As sole survivors of the First Unraveling, the Elders became architects of renewal. They designed and seeded virtually all fauna and the foundational sapient species across the galaxies—including the “Big Ten” civilizations: Aetherians, Draken, Ethereans, Krythorians, Lumens, Luminar, Nebulites, Terradorians, Vyxians, and Zorlacians. This Elder-created foundation cascaded through multiple generations of species creation, shaping galactic civilization across all eras.
Galactic Role
The Elders practice cosmic stewardship through their Elder Covenant: non-interference, subtle guidance, and species self-determination. They strike at causality flows rather than using direct force, carefully controlling when and what knowledge reaches younger civilizations. The Orrery of Sages governs from their crystalline homeworld Elyria in the Pleiades Subcluster, where true civilization lies underground while pristine wilderness covers the surface.
For over a million years, they have waged a shadow war against the Nexum—survivors of the Mechanix, another Original Nine species who seek to infiltrate and control all Elder-created life. Neither side has achieved victory. The stalemate persists across epochs, invisible to most of the galaxy.
