Earth Transformed — Project Status Update
Some of you have already read the opening chapters of Earth Transformed over on Wattpad. That version included the intro and the first two chapters, covering about 30,000 words out of what was intended to be a 23-chapter book.
I’ve decided to pause that version of the project.
The reason is simple, even if it took me a while to realize it. I tried to write a book that blended fictional storytelling with historical analysis, and it just didn’t work. The tone between the two halves never quite clicked. I kept rewriting it, changing the format, switching narrative modes. After months of grinding through new drafts, I realized the core structure was the problem.
So, I’m splitting the book in two.
Going forward, Earth Transformed will become a dual-series project. The first series will be a standalone historical analysis of the Earth timeline from 2700 to 7800 AD, written in the voice of the Cosmic Chronicler. The second series will be a collection of character-driven narratives set within the same time period, written by multiple authors across a range of perspectives and cultures.
This dual-series plan is not happening right away. It’s a long-term project, and it’s going to take time to get it right. For the next year or two, my focus will be on the narrative series. I’ve already hired a team of writers, each assigned to a different slice of Earth’s history between 2800 and 7800 AD. They’re already working on their stories, and the first of those—Aristotle—will be releasing soon.
The goal now is to build momentum and develop that narrative series first, one story at a time. When the time is right, the historical volume will return, in its own voice and with a clear structure. Until then, I’m shelving the version currently up on Wattpad. I may archive it, or I may leave it up with a brief disclaimer.
Either way, this isn’t the end of Earth Transformed. It’s just a recalibration.
The full timeline and lore still exist, and they’re more detailed than ever. This is just about matching the right format to the right story.
