Lumen Universe: What It Is and Where It’s Headed
Let me be honest from the start, what I’m building sounds a little impossible. And maybe, in some ways, it is. That’s part of the point.
The Lumen Universe is my attempt to create the most interconnected, rigorously architected, and living fictional universe ever made. It’s more than stories, comics, or games. It’s a never-finished chronicle, designed to keep expanding, deepening, and evolving.
A few things make it different:
- Every piece of lore is tied to an evolving master timeline and mapped across real galactic space
- No species is monolithic, and no culture is frozen in time
- The same events are experienced through many genres, because every story is filtered through the perspective of its characters
- This isn’t just a creative project, it’s also a technical one. Games, art, and stories will help fund a longer-term goal: building a fully explorable holographic simulation of this universe
Right now, we’re focused on one era of one planet: Earth, from 2800 to 7800 AD. That alone is a massive challenge. But it’s the right place to start, because it’s where uplifted species first emerge, where humans lose their dominance, and where the Lumens begin to rise.
I’ve hired a team of writers and artists to help bring these stories to life. Each month, we’ll release a new narrative. These stories will be tied to a larger, tightly integrated canon. But they’ll also stand on their own as good science fiction—personal, surprising, and full of wonder.
The Lumen Universe is a long-term commitment. I work on it every day, and I’ve built the foundation to support decades of expansion. There’s still a long way to go, but we’re moving, and I’m excited to finally start bringing people inside.
If you’re new here—welcome.
If you’ve been following from the beginning—thank you.
And if you’re just curious, stay curious. There’s more coming.
